Work Requirement

Membership in the Cobble Hill CSA requires at least TWO work shifts, each shift lasting 2 hours or less.

The CSA is a volunteer-run cooperative with no paid staff, and we depend on the help of our members, especially during the season to distribute shares each Tuesday. Responsible participation is critical to our operations. The CSA functions solely on our work commitment to each other.  We ask that members offer helpful suggestions on how to make the best use of the cooperative work shifts. If you have a scheduling problem working site distribution shifts, please contact the Work Shift Coordinator for other possible ways to fulfill your commitment.

For questions about the work requirement, please contact the Work Shift Coordinator at WorkShiftsCobbleHillCSA@gmail.com

GENERAL NOTES ABOUT THE COOPERATIVE WORK REQUIREMENT

1.      Members register for their work shifts online. If your schedule changes and you become unable to complete a shift for which you previously registered, you are responsible for finding another member to cover this shift. To do so, you can email the membership at members@cobblehillcsa.org You are also responsible for signing up for an alternate shift later in the season.

2.      While completing their work shifts, members may be asked to lift heavy items such as folding tables and boxes of produce. If physical labor is challenging for you, please notify the site supervisor so he/she is able to assign you to alternative tasks. Conversely, if you feel able to do some heavy lifting, please do not hesitate to volunteer!

3.      During your cooperative work shift, please do not bring children who require constant supervision. If you have questions regarding children at work shifts, please contact the Work Shift Coordinator.

4.      If you can’t find a shift that fits your abilities, please contact the Work Shift Coordinator for an alternate task or reasonable accommodations.
